Cinque Terre International Music Festival

The XXXVIII Cinque Terre International Music Festival is starting Ten events from 26 July to 7 September 2019 with classical music in the Cinque Terre villages and sanctuaries . Perfect combination of music, territory and artistic heritage. In its long years of continuity, the event invited international artists to perform in the splendid setting of a territory unique in the world and brought to the attention of the public and the media the invaluable artistic and cultural heritage constituted by the ancient, precious organs tools kept in places of great charm and beauty.

The WTAMU brass quintet with its magical sound will inaugurate this new edition in Vernazza in the church of Santa Margherita d'Antiochia. Subsequently, Riomaggiore will host the Ensemble Enerbia and Maddalena Scagnelli whose concert, immersed in musical atmospheres directly from the Middle Ages, will be preceded by a tourist tour in the company of a local historian to discover the wonders of the village.

Then it will be the turn of the Katharsis Ensemble , which will recall the charm of Gregorian music at the Shrine of Our Lady of Soviore. At 18.30 the concert will be preceded by a music tasting of the wines of the Cinque Terre, realized in collaboration with the AIS (Reservation is required at the email address: comunicazione@parconazionale5terre.it).

The Labirinto Armonico Ensemble , a quartet composed of organ and three baroque violins, will perform in Manarola. The exhibition will be preceded by a tourist tour at 7.00 pm with a local historian to discover the wonders of the village.

In the enchanting scenery of the Molo dei Pescatori of Monterosso the Sax Ensemble of Limits , formed by young musicians graduated from the Giacomo Puccini Conservatory of La Spezia under the direction of Alessio Bacci and the preparation of Marco Falaschi , will propose a concert dedicated to the most famous compositions by Haendel, Vivaldi, Verdi, Mascagni, Rossini, Bernstein, Berlioz. As per tradition, there will be many renowned organists who will perform organ and chamber repertoires together with the violin and transverse flute. The Festival will also welcome a dear friend, the pianist Andrea Bacchetti , who will give an exceptional evening together with the Japanese violinist Naoya Nishimura .

Finally, the Festival will end on Saturday 7 September, at the Shrine Nostra Signora di Soviore with the exhibition of the Choir of Monte Cauriol directed by Massimo Corso that will enchant the audience with its suggestive atmospheres of Alpine songs and folk tradition dedicated to the mountain.
